Welcome to my SportLodging.com blog! Here you'll find articles written about everything from how to plan the perfect sporting adventure to finding the best lodging for your pocketbook. Stay tuned!
I created SportLodging.com because I needed a site like this myself. I have been planning "guy trips" for various sports like, skydiving, scuba diving, off road motorcycling, dual sport motorcycling, street bike touring, skiing, helicopter skiing and more for over 30 years. Putting together a trip for a group can be a daunting, time consuming experience. You have to do a lot of research including books, maps, and many, many websites to find the best location for this years outing. Then, once you determine a place, you need to find suitable lodging. Last but not least, you have to communicate this information to the group. Often, you may need to provide multiple locations, lodging options and event dates. Trying to get a consensus can require many phone calls and emails.
Sportlodging.com is a site where you can find many different areas for many different sports. Lodging, equipment suppliers, sporting retailers, rental equipment, guides, outfitters, resturants and bars are some of the necessities that make up a good trip plan. Finding all of these suppliers for multiple areas would require researching many websites and printed materials. SportLodging.com is like one stop shopping allowing you to reaserch many options and to easily communicate it to your group.
The Adventure Planner, is a powerful communication tool for you to use. Save all of your trip choices or options in the Adventure Planner. Add any notes you wish about each option and then email this to your group. Your email includes a trip name, login and password information for them to be able to log into your Adventure Planner, see the options you listed, read your comments and add comments of their own. They can also see the comments of the other trip members which will help to facilitate a consensus quickly. Getting everyone to agree on all the options and dates can be very time consuming but the Adventure Planner will make it easy and fast. Your email address and those of your group are secure and will NEVER be sold, published or made available to anyone.
The site will never be done, but it will always grow and improve. Your comments and input would be much appreciated. As I can, I am adding lists of my favorite locations for the sports listed. Please add your favorites, comment on my choices or ask for recommendations from others.
Let me know how I can make this a better tool for your use. I appreciate your time and input.
Regards,
Randy Johnson
