Rock Crawling

You probably love driving a 4x4 - either a sport utility vehicle or pickup. You have also probably had prior experience of driving on back roads, at times getting stuck in snow and mud, and dealing with rocky rutted trails.

You may be a candidate for rock crawling. We are referring to professional caliber 4-wheeling. Climbing over tall boulders, straddling deep ravines, and patiently making your way through rocky steps and ledges all requires courage, experience, training and expertise that is hard to develop on your own. You clearly need expert inputs.

For extremely challenging off road adventure with your 4-wheel drive truck or jeep, you should definitely give rock crawling a try! It needs driving precision, and patience because you have to travel slowly over obstacles with jeeps, trucks or customized 4X4 types. You need to undergo rigorous training and practice sessions to learn all the stuff for mastering 4 wheeling off road in extreme conditions.

All said and done, you must give rock crawling a try. It is a challenging albeit thrilling sport. Generally, a competent team of a driver and spotter navigates its vehicle through the tough and enduring course. This demands finesse, power, experience and skills.

The driver has to undertake obvious responsibilities as the onus is clearly on him. It is the spotter who plays a supporting role. The spotter usually guides, motivates and gives a timely advice and inputs.

You first need to understand the rock crawling basics. Like, you must start with the primary but key rule - go slow as you ease your way through the rough trails, protecting the tires as well as the drivetrain. Do not go over board but gradually build the tempo as you get more confident through training and practice.  Don't forget to send us a picture or two of your tougher moments!
