Kentucky Off road Riding Areas and ATV Trails

Kentucky is a state famous for coal mining and timbering industries. Many of the coal mines are abandoned and these abandoned mines are now used as trails. Harlan County is one such place which has abandoned mountainous trails. This trails have become an off –road rider’s paradise. Careful co – ordination between the management of local government, local clubs and citizens have ensured that the trails are well maintained and challenging for all skill types drivers.

Kentucky also boasts of many other trails .Some of which are mentioned below. Turkey Bay OHV Area (also known as Land between the Lakes OHV Area) in Cadiz, KY. Located on a height of 350 to 600 ft, this trail stretches to about 100 miles. It’s a challenging trail with scenic view. Most of the trails are rocky and has steep hill climbs with numerous mud pits. The trails are suited for all types of skill levels.

 Royal ATV Trails (also known as Royal ATV Park) in Elizabethtown, KY is located on height of 700 to 800 ft. This is a privately owned Park .The park stretches to about 500 acres. The trail has various types of challenges like deep and small water crossings, two grassy drag strips and mud bogs. It is well maintained and runs in the deep woods making it a perfect trail for mostly amateur’s riders.
