and Trails
There are several well known state parks in Oklahoma that offer adventure fun to off road enthusiasts. In northwestern Oklahoma near Beaver, OK, lies the Beaver Dunes State Park known for great sand dunes.
Then you have the granddaddy of all Oklahoma sand dune playgrounds, Little Sahara State Park. Little Sahara is known as the “Golden Sands of Waynoka” and has been a favorite for off-road enthusiasts since the 60’s. Great fun for sand rails, dune buggies, motorcycles and all terrain vehicles (ATV’s).
Down south you have, Lake Murray Resort Park an 1,000 acre off-road area on the north side of Lake Murray where ATV’s, motorcycles, jeeps and trucks come to play. These ORV or OHV areas are not the only treats available to off roaders in Oklahoma.
Camp Gruber, Grand Lake, Quartz Mountain, Eagle’s Roost, are other favorite ORV areas. Then you have beautiful national forests such as Ouachita and Kiamichi which offer a different flavor. Sand dunes, woods, single track, two track, hill climbs, water crossings, Oklahoma has a lot more to offer than just red dirt.
